Digg vs Stumbleupon vs Reddit

Thought I’d revisit my post from a few months ago  - but this time let’s look at visits instead of uniques as I think it tells a more striking story of Digg’s redesign.

The Digg redesign launched in August and has lead to a mass traffic exodus from the crowdsourced news site.  Stumbleupon traffic has remained largely flat but interestingly Reddit traffic has gained significantly. Unfortunately for Digg, it looks like the redesign can officially be called a failure…  and a massive one at that.

Out of curiosity I thought I’d look through some of the stats comparing Digg, Reddit, and Stumbleupon.  Digg is killing the competition, but trending down - we’ll see if the new design helps things (when it kicks in).  The big news here is that Stumbleupon is gaining huge momentum… if you believe the chart.  If it’s accurate then Stumbleupon would have a daily active userbase on the plus side of 50%…. which is borderline crazy.  Stats from Compete.com.
